Charlotte Observer article The world newspaper article article Charlotte, N.C. — A North Carolina newspaper has removed a photo of an infant that was prominently featured in a World Journal newspaper article and posted online.
A copy of the Charlotte Observer’s editor-in-chief’s blog on Monday said the photo was not meant to be used as a promotional image and had been removed for being inappropriate.
The Charlotte Observer said in a blog post on Monday that it had removed the photo from its website because it was not in accordance with its editorial guidelines.
It was taken on a private jet flight in December 2014, the blog post said.
The Observer said the image was removed for “inappropriate use of private jet photos.”
The newspaper said it had been inundated with complaints over the photo, which showed the baby on the left breast and the caption “Baby with heart, but not lungs,” and captioned it “Nashville baby.”
